A groundskeeper uses the traditional method for measuring the force of the rain at the Cashen Fisherman's House at Bunratty Folk Park.  The folk park is a reconstruction of traditional Irish homes and their environment in the grounds of Bunratty Castle, County Clare.

Celtic crosses and buttercups dot the cemetery at the 12th century Franciscan Abbey at Multyfarnham in Ireland's central lake district.  The Abbey Gardens include life-size sculptures of the Stations of the Cross.

12th century Temple Finghin, also known as McCarthy's church, is one of  nine churches nestled on the banks of the River Shannon at the ruins of Clonmacnoise Monastery.  The earliest buildings on the site date from the 6th century.
