The
Rice Flake Ceremony is a blessing of the first rice flake of the season
to insure a good rice harvest. It takes place the second night of the
three-day Water Festival. In addition to ceremonies held at local Phnom
Penh temples, Monks who have traveled with their boat teams from other
parts of Cambodia hold the ceremony wherever they can find a space.
Paddlers decorate their dragon boat with candles for a blessing
from the monks during the Rice Flake Festival.

Rice bowls for each monk are filled by the failthful before
they are ppresented to each of the monks.
